Who is providing this information?

Check Bankruptcy is a service provided by TrollerBk.com. TrollerBk.com has been operating an online database of bankruptcy information since 2006 and presently has nearly 80,000 cases in its database. These cases are pulled directly from the servers at the various bankruptcy courts around the country. The database is updated nightly to include all newly filed cases.

Will you be covering other bankruptcy types?

The online service, TrollerBk.com, has historically focused on Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases because these cases tend to be the most involved. Chapter 15 bankruptcies were added to the service at the beginning of 2009. The same technology that we use for the present cases can be extended to other bankruptcy types like Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. This can presently be accessed as a separate service from TrollerBk.com. If there is sufficient customer demand, we may expose more of this information to the public.

What is an API and when will it be available?

Our view of an Application Programming Interface (API) is that it is a specialized method of accessing our databases without having to use the standard webpage. The benefit is that you can integrate these requests into your own reports and management systems directly, accessing our data programmatically rather than by hand. This should make the information more easily available and more useful.

What kind of technologies will your API employ?

We anticipate making both REST and SOAP methods available as part of the API.

What about pricing

We anticipate that this will be added as a new benefit for our Premium and Group Subscribers. There will likely be a additional charge of $.01 per request.
